Book expectations: Ellen Heijmerikx
Tonight Ellen Heijmerikx was a guest in the Dutch TV talk show Pauw & Witteman to talk about her second book, which is actually about the same subject as her first book. She has a well outspoken opinion about that subject, the books seem to be somewhat autobiographic, which I share with her in general. Short summary: involving religion with the upbringing can indoctrinate in such way that a child loses the capability of making own judgements and growth is hindered.

Because I myself also write about a related theme, i.e. believing everything blindly and being close-minded to new ways of thinking which can arise with religion and premeditated abuse by others of it, I was immediately captivated by the stories she told. When I finally finish the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series (if I finally finish them I will post something about that, reading Mostly Harmless at the moment) I will certainly order her books. I expect books with somewhat typical examples which fit to my mindsets and thus will not shock me but could possibly give me new points of view. I'm looking forward.

Sorry, Dutch only
